What is Talking Over Food?
Talking Over Food is a unique dining/discussion experience where a small gathering of people exchange viewpoints with an experienced thought leader/expert while a chef prepares and serves food from a custom tasting menu.
Talking Over Food has three unique values:
1. Have Better Discussions: Share your viewpoint with the group and thoroughly explore the topic with a moderator and thought leader.
2. Have Better Meals: See first-hand how culinary skills with higher quality ingredients can expand your knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
3. Have Smaller Groups: Intimate settings that are limited to 6 people to ensure interaction and personalization.
Who should attend?
Talking Over Food is a place where you can meet people, engage in a moderated discussion on a common topic of interest and expand your knowledge and understanding of food. However, we discourage bringing a date, spouse or significant other to an event unless they share your passion and knowledge of the topic.
Is there an age restriction?
Due to the potential for alcohol to be present at the event we ask that attendees be at least 21 years old. We host special alcohol-free events for attendees who may be in or just graduated from college.. Please note the age preference in the registration form.
What does it cost to attend?
The price to attend this 2-hour event is $150 per person. It includes a custom prepared multi-course menu, beverages, and coaching from a topic relevant thought leader. Events are professionally moderated to ensure thorough exploration of the topic. Full payment in required advance to complete your reservation. There is no charge if you do not accept the invitation.
What is your cancellation policy?
A full price payment is required to complete your reservation. If you are unable to attend you can use the amount towards another event or transfer the reservation to another person. There is no refund once you have accepted an invitation to attend.
Do you accommodate food allergies?
Due to physical restraints of the kitchen, it may be difficult to host events that include an allergy requirement. I am committed to delivering an inclusive experience and will therefore be scheduling allergy sensitive events throughout the year. When you register please select the “I have food allergies” on the registration form. I appreciate your understanding.
Do you host private events?
Yes. We offer private events. The cost of private events start at $250 per person and are bound to the same restrictions as public events with a limitation of 6 people in attendance. However, we can provide live streaming of the event for an additional cost above the per person charges if you wish to reach a larger audience. Can I host an event at my home?
Yes. We have many requests from people looking to host these types of events at their home. However, there are additional costs associated with hosting remote events. These costs will vary based on the transport of required tools and clean up. However, the event is still bound by the same restrictions as public events with a limitation of 6 people in attendance. We also require that our chef have the opportunity to review your kitchen layout before providing you with a cost.
